The Centre Jodjana at the Château de Vergoignan (Gers)
Following 2 other previous locations, Cotignac
(Haute-Provence ; 1934) and Dardennes (Var ; 1935), the Château de Vergoignan near
Barcelonne du Gers (SW France) housed the Jodjana cultural center from 1936 to WWII. The
couple developed there a new type of education centre helped by the de Graaff couple,
patrons who frequently organized concerts and exhibitions in their nearby estate. One of the inner pages of the presentation leaflet reproduced below gives a rather good idea of the setting and ambience in which these activities were taking place.
